Back in the Running

Friends,

First of all, we cannot thank you enough for all the prayers and encouragement we have received over the past week. Although it has been a difficult week, God has been so gracious to us. We have had so much peace and joy in the midst of this trial, and we know that God has good things in store for us, Carver, and for his mom.

At this point, we are back in the "pot", so to speak, of families who want to adopt. Our profile will be shown to birthmothers, and we are working on getting our online profile up on Bethany's website--it should be there in the next few days. We don't know if we will get a call tomorrow, next week, or three months from now. In some ways, it is a comfortable place to be. Although we can't wait for God to bring our little one to us, we are enjoying the time we have with each other, and spending lots of time with our extended families. We also feel more prepared for a baby--all the baby things are washed, set up, and waiting. The only thing is--we don't know if we'll be getting a boy or a girl, and all we have are boy clothes. So if we get a girl, she may be a little tomboy for the first few days :)

Some of you have asked how Grant has done with having to send the baby back. At first he was understandably very sad and shed many tears. Quickly, though, he accepted the fact that the baby was not ours to keep, and he said to me, "So Mommy, we were just babysitting him?" He seemed content with my affirmative answer, and has been amazingly resilient.

We will update when we receive any new information.

~Jill and Stephen
